Major highway in Sweden and fields of bright yellow against blue skies. Most highways and major roads are built three lanes wide. Every 2KM or so, there is a section like this about 1 KM long where it is two lanes on one side and cars can pass. Elsewhere each side is about 1.5 lanes wide and slower traffic stays to the right.

One of the most peculiar (at least to me) things that we saw were literally hundreds of U.S. made cars from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. All makes and models, nearly all meticulously restored and well cared for. Some were made into 'low riders' and had outrageous paint jobs (like jet black with purple flames), but most were original.

I was told that the people that drive these are a sort of a subculture and lifestyle stuck in those times, and they still worship Elvis. The name for these people is "Raggare."

Another question exists: How do these people afford to drive these cars with gasoline at nearly $4.50 per gallon? They're not exactly noted for their fuel efficiency. I guess it's all a matter of priorities.
